Mycality Mushrooms was started in 2002 by Mike Egan, a recent graduate of Humboldt State University with a degree in Soil Sciences. Mike started off attending Paul Stamets mycology seminars and studied with him in the pacific northwest where he and mycology became one. Never very far from the local surf action, Mike started growing mushrooms in the cool foggy coastal environment of the Humboldt California coast, always keeping an eagle eye on the beloved surf 200 yards away.
Mike has become a fixture at the local Farmers Markets, selling mushrooms and developing relationships with the local patrons and chefs who count on him for fresh, safe and healthy mushrooms week in and week out.
Mike dedicates his time to and is a board member of the North Coast Growers Association with an eye to the future with a strong drive for food sovereignty. Providing high quality gourmet and medicinal mushrooms to the country and human race, this is the mission.
